I use a SONY Mavica (great close-ups!) to picture the
items in 640x480 resolution, as I still get compliments
on the "accuracy". I still have the original
pictures of most I found in auctions though. Maybe you
old timers will recognize the "one that got

I learned much about my items found in (eBay) auctions,
estate sales, flea markets and garage sales; from
immensely helpful web sites by
Derek F. Dredge, Bob Urso, et al; from valuable
reference books used for identification. I recommend them
and these three books, which I will keep to remember my
"treasures".

It is not being offered to, nor
intended to be sold to minors.
This Auction is
for a Precision Miniature, "MADE IN GERMANY" Kobold Pinfire, Nickel-Plated Pistol, with Beautiful Pearl Grips and an overall length of
1-1/2". The color of the grips appears to be more of
a YELLOW as pictured, whether that is the
resulting fade from original brown, green, or white - or
a variation. This RARELY FOUND little GOBLIN = "Kobold", also marked "D.R.G.M.", is in Excellent Condition.
Remarkable
and notably unusual
is the manner and function of operation - it uses an
"UNDERHAMMER" design to strike the 2mm
pinfire blank cartridges, a.k.a. "caps". When
in the "cocked" position the entire front
of the grip becomes the "trigger" (SEE PICTURES). This little gun has holes to
hang it on a keychain, charm bracelet or as a watch fob.
"G4 - Kobold, OAL
1-1/2"
Nickel plated brass, with Bakelite like grips -
found in brown, green, and white. Markings
"Kobold", which means Goblin in German
and "DRGM", which means "Deutsches
Reichs Gebrauchs Muster" and implies that
the pistol was protected in Germany on a similar
basis to a patented item in our country."
"This nicely finished gun is similar
in design to the Austrian pistols made by F.
Pfannl, such as the Kolibri. Unlike the Kolibri,
however, it is not a rimfire but an underhammer,
2mm pinfire. This is the only production,
underhammer pinfire that I know of. The Kobold
was made after W.W.I but prior to W.W.II."
