1954 Proof Set in Original Mint Box, w/ Tissue, Stapled Bags - UNTOUCHED Coins!




This is a Fully Original 1954 Proof Set in the small square box, with the packing tissue. Each coin is still stapled together in the little bags, and UNTOUCHED since they left the United States Mint. Beautiful penny, nickel and there is some toning on the silver coins but it is to be expected after 50 years...I have some silver toning too on my head after all these decades. Too bad I didn't heed my older brother's advice in 1964 to start saving silver coins like he said to so I will settle for what silver I have.
I was born in December 1954, and bought it from a dealer in sealed condition (I paid $199.00 for it on 6/29/03.) to open as a surprise to myself for my birthday. I made it to my 50th and had dinner out with friends and family at Bennigans to celebrate.
After being minted no one else had seen them in a half a century! These are impossible to find in circulation! I hope to be around to buy them back in 2054...So just to share in the fun I had - these GEMS are being listed as a NO RESERVE AUCTION starting at $.91 face value.
